Penetration testing labs

Hack The Box is an online platform allowing you to test your penetration testing skills and exchange ideas and methodologies with other members of similar interests. It contains several challenges that are constantly updated. Some of them simulating real world scenarios and some of them leaning more towards a CTF style of challenge.

As an individual, you can complete a simple challenge to prove your skills and then create an account, allowing you to connect to our private network (HTB Labs) where several machines await for you to hack them. By hacking machines you get points that help you advance in the Hall of Fame.

0x01 How do I join Hack The Box?

In order to join you should solve an entry-level challenge that is presented here. If you are unable to "hack the invite process" you will probably wont be able to do much after joining also.

0x03 I am a company, interested in private labs for my staff.

If you are interested in private labs or other custom solutions please contact us and we can arrange accordingly.

0x02 I have little to zero knowledge about information security but I do well with computers...where should I start?

You should try reading about operating systems, networks, frameworks and tools (nmap, gdb, metasploit) and security in general, HTB Forums has some tutorials and write-ups, then you can try playing our entry level machines here on Hack The Box!

0x04 What happens after I join Hack The Box?

After becoming a member you are presented with a private network (HTB Net) that contains several vulnerable systems. Your goal is to hack each one and after doing so, you are awarded with points that advance you to the hall of fame.
